Chelmsford City Council is looking for an enthusiastic, logical and inquisitive person to investigate potential inaccuracies in Council Tax discounts identified via a data-matching project. You will be responsible for tracing people who owe Council Tax in order to increase collection rates. Ideally, you will have previous Council Tax experience but equally important is the ability to adapt to new technology and to assimilate information quickly and process it logically, accurately and non-judgmentally. There will be contact with customers, so a good telephone manner and high standards of literacy and numeracy are also required.
